American Legion Post 50
Who We Are
The American Legion, chartered by Congress in 1919, evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of The Great War into one of the most influential nonprofit organization in the United States, providing health, legal, educational resources to veterans, servicemembers, and their communities. Post 50 was established in Paso Robles in 1924 and its force of local veterans works with community partners to help veterans and their families navigate Veterans Affairs hospitals and clinics, pension issues, and healthcare needs and provides opportunities for civic engagement and Americanism to local youth.

Each year, American Legion Post 50 sends two high school juniors to attend BOYS STATE in Sacramento, one of the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students.
Be The One
The American Legion’s Be the One suicide prevention program now includes gaming to provide a place for veterans struggling mentally to gather and find camaraderie and support.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 50
Who We Are
We are the spouses, mothers, daughters, granddaughters and sisters of American veterans. We know that military service is a sacrifice for the whole family, so ALA members quietly look for ways to ease the burden in this community— whatever it takes to get that family back on their feet physically, mentally, socially, and vocationally. If we don’t have the resources, we connect military families with our partners who do.
Julia Cox 2026 Girls State Delegate
Each year, Paso Robles ALA Unit 50 sends one high school junior to attend GIRLS STATE in Sacramento where she will have the opportunity to broaden her knowledge and skills in civic engagement, consensus building, advocacy, and service learning. This year’s Delegate is Julia Cox and Alternates are Lila Colegrove and Mia Angel. The session for the Girls State this year will be at University of California at Riverside from June 22nd to June 27th.
Poppy Program
The American Legion Auxiliary adopted the poppy as its memorial flower in 1921 and started its Poppy Program in 1924. Today, Paso Robles ALA Unit 50 members distribute hundreds of poppies, which symbolize freedom and the blood sacrificed by troops, during the month of May. Donations received go directly to assist veterans and veteran services in our community, including Central Coast Veterans Helping Veterans and the Honor Flight.

Who We Are
We are the proud Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L), an organization honoring our parents and/or grandparents who served in the military as we provide support and honor to all our veterans, their families, and to our local community. If you have a parent or grandparent who served in the military, consider joining our family, join the Sons of The American Legion.
What We Do

Eligibility
All male descendants of veterans who served honorably are eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion.
American Legion Riders Chapter 50
Who We Are
All members of the American Legion Riders are current members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion. Chapter 50 members ride to honor fallen military men and women, and to protect the sanctity of their funerals from those who would dishonor their memory. We escort military units to departure airfields and airports for combat tours overseas and welcome them home upon their return.
Our Team
Since 2006, Chapter 50 has raised thousands of dollars for local charities, including Boys & Girls Club, Thanksgiving for Paso Robles, SLO Food Bank, and Skills USA. Legacy Run 2026 above.
Eligibility
• Members must hold membership in and be in good standing with The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of The American Legion.
• Members must be legally registered motorcycle owners or be the legally registered owner’s spouse within the state of registration.
• All operators must be properly licensed and insured per state laws.
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.
